Bill Clinton: ‘She’d Be Really Great’ As Sec. of State

Bill Clinton said that his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), would be “really great” as Secretary of State in an Obama administration.

The former president, speaking in Kuwait on Monday, said that he didn’t know whether President-elect Barack Obama would ask her to join his Cabinet, reports The Page. But he made clear that he thought she’d be up for the job.

Here’s Bill Clinton’s full remarks on her possible appointment:

She worked very hard for his election after the primary fight that they had. And so did I, and we were very glad that he won and we have a lot of confidence that he could do a good job. But she did not do what she did with the hope or expectation of getting any kind of job offer, much less having this discussed.

She loves doing what she’s doing. But if he decided to ask her to do it and they did it together, I think she’d be really great at being Secretary of State. But I have no earthly idea what is going to happen. I have been here. If I did have any idea, I wouldn’t tell you.
