Former Sen. Mark Dayton (D-Minn.) won praise from one grateful Minnesotan after he bought a specialized braille laptop for a young woman whose pricey machine was stolen.
Dayton bought Emily Zitek, a 31-year-old blind Minnesotan, a $6,500 laptop after her BrailleNote mPowerBT 32 was stolen on a bus commute, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.
“Her story touched my heart and it was the least I could do,” said Dayton, an heir to the Dayton’s department store chain. “It’s awful how low some people will go, and if anybody needed help, it’s Emily.”
“That is so wonderful,” Zitek said. “It goes to show you that for every bad person, there are 100 good people out there.”
