Rangel Defends Son in Letter to Supporters, Reporters

Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.), besieged with financial scandals during the 110th Congress, issued a letter to supporters and reporters yesterday defending himself and hitting back at a story that suggested the longtime congressman channeled excessive amounts of campaign cash to his son’s website management business.

Politico reported on Thursday that Rangel had paid nearly $80,000 to his son’s business to manage and promote two of Rangel’s political websites.
