Is your member of Congress under investigation?
Probably not. But it couldn’t hurt to check a new report by the Citizen for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW.)
CREW has compiled a list of all members of Congress who are under investigation by any government agency. Such agencies do not make that information available.
The offenses include allocating improper earmarks, receiving preferential mortgages, and failing to pay capital gains taxes, among others.
The list includes 16 lawmakers total, including 12 U.S. Representatives and 4 Senators. And for those counting, 12 Democrats and 4 Republicans.
-Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.)
-Rep. Jesse Jackson (D-Ill.)
-Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-Calif.)
-Rep. Gary Miller (R-Calif.)
-Rep. Allan Mollohan (D-W.V.)
-Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.)
-Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.)
-Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.)
-Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.)
-Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.)
-Rep. Pete Visclosky (D-Ind.)

-Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.)
-Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.)
-Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.)
-Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.)
Most of the information in the report is from press accounts, but CREW nevertheless does a good job of compiling all the data in one place .
