Dems ask McConnell to reject ‘political calculation’ on economy

Four Democratic Senate leaders sought to corner Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on the economy, asking him to reject “political calculation” and work with them to address the economic proposals before Congress.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Conference Vice Chairman Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and Conference Secretary Patty Murray (D-Wash.) sent McConnell the letter Friday, specifically referencing the economic struggles of his own home state, Kentucky.
