Daschle: ‘I Deeply Apologize’
Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), PResident Obama’s nominee to be secretary of Health and Human Services, met with members of the Senate Finance Committee behind closed doors Monday to discuss the $140,000 in back taxes he had to pay during the vetting process for his Cabinet nomination.
After the meeting, Daschle made a statement to the press. He did not take questions.
