Large Majority Disapproves of Paulson

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson faces low approval ratings for his handling of the Congress and the financial bailout package, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research poll.

64 percent of Americans said they disapproved of Paulson’s handling of his job, while 28 percent of those surveyed expressed approval.

The bailout legislation which Paulson helped push through Congress was similarly unpopular. 56 percent of those surveyed said they disapproved of the bailout deal.

The poll, conducted October 17-19, has a three percent margin of error.
