Obama to throw out first pitch in baseball’s all-star game

President Obama will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Major League Baseball’s annual all-star game next month, the White House announced Tuesday.

Obama will travel to St. Louis on July 14 to throw out the first pitch. This year’s all-star game is being held at the stadium of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The White House highlighted the MLB’s participation in the United We Serve campaign, an initiative the president has helped spearhead.

Obama will also travel to Detroit earlier in the day on the 14th, where he will participate in a townhall in the heart of the auto industry in which his administration has now taken a major stake.
