Dupont Circle is packed with nearly 500 people protesting the Iraq war and hundreds more waiting for President-elect Obama.
The crowds, along Connecticut Avenue, have shut down traffic for several blocks while waiting for Obama to arrive at the Washington Hilton just north of Dupont Circle.
Cell-phone service, which came to a halt for thousands on the National Mall during Sunday’s concert, has also slowed considerably.
Many people are happy, but there’s the few disgruntled workers trying to get home and aren’t being allowed to cross the street.
