Graduates of Notre Dame University, Arizona State University, and the Naval Academy will have President Obama as their commencement speaker, the White House announced Friday.
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that Obama will speak May 13th at Arizona State, May 17th at Notre Dame, and May 22nd at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Obama will continue the longstanding tradition of addressing graduates of one of the service academies each year by traveling to Annapolis for the academy’s midshipmen (whose mascot is “Bill the Goat”).
The Naval Academy is, of course, alma mater to Obama’s 2008 presidential nemesis, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). McCain represents Arizona in the Senate, as well.
