White House in the dark Monday afternoon

The White House suffered a power outage early Monday afternoon, according to a report by the Washington Post.

The West Wing was literally “in the dark” Monday after power and lighting went out. About half of the press pool lost power at their stations, too.

“The dog found the power cord,” press secretary Robert Gibbs joked.

It was unclear early Monday afternoon whether or not the power had returned, or what parts of the building were affected.
