Poll: Obama would wipe out Palin
If the election were held today, President Obama would defeat Sarah Palin 56% to 33%, a new Marist poll finds.
It really is way too early to give much credence to 2012 polls, but some of the demographic breakdowns in this poll are pretty remarkable.
Obama, for example, would get 92% support from Democrats, while Palin would pull just 73% support from Republicans.
African-Americans would pick Obama 99%-1%.
The President would win every age group, every income group, and every REGION–including the South, where he’d beat Palin 49% to 38%.
That comes despite the fact that 53% of Southerners (in a different poll) either believe that Obama was not born in the United States (23%) or aren’t sure (30%).
