Specter slightly outraises Toomey
Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) narrowly outraised his 2010 challenger in the second quarter, his campaign announced on Tuesday.
Specter raiased $1.73 million. Specter’s challenger, former Rep. Pat Toomey, hauled in about $1.6 million.
Specter holds a significant advantage over Toomey in cash on hand, though. Specter has $7.5 million in his warchest while Toomey has just $1.1 million in his bank account.
The Democrat’s camp pointed out in a statement that Specter raised among the most of any Democratic senator.
“Our impressive fundraising this quarter demonstrates the strong support I have in the Democratic Party and across Pennsylvania,” Specter said.
