Toomey hauls in $1.6 million
Pat Toomey seems to have had a good fundraising quarter, hauling in $1.6 million for his bid to unseat Arlen Specter.
The Toomey campaign announced the sum in an email this morning, noting that Toomey now has more conributors than he had during his entire 2004 primary campaign against then-Republican Specter.
“I am honored by all the people who have contributed to my campaign since my announcement,” Mr. Toomey said. “These contributions come from folks across all of Pennsylvania and the country who know that America has a better future than the runaway spending and endless bailouts that are coming from Washington today. Together, I believe we can bring fiscal responsibility, political balance, and economic growth back to our country.”
Having spent about $525,000, Toomey is left with just over $1.1 million cash on hand.
