VIDEO: AUC launches ad blitz on cap and trade

Americans United for Change is launching a series of television ads across the country this week thanking members for voting for the cap and trade legislation that passed the House about two weeks ago.

The group, which is backed primarily by labor groups, will launch ads this week in 12 districts as well as in all of New Hampshire and in the Detroit media market.

The group is also airing the same ad it ran last week again. This time it will run on national cable; last week it just ran in D.C. And it is running robocalls with the same message in 74 districts.

Americans United for Change is spending $150,000 on the blitz, which will run from Tuesday through Friday.

Check out one of the ads below that will run in Rep. John Boccieri’s (D-Ohio) district. It is a variation on last week’s ad, emphasizing that the legislation will create a “uniquely American” solution to the energy problems facing the country.

Ads will run in the districts of Democratic Reps. Boccieri, Mary Jo Kilroy (Ohio), Steve Driehaus (Ohio), Mark Schauer (Mich.), Betsy Markey (Colo.), Baron Hill (Ind.), Ben Chandler (Ky.), Frank Kratovil (Md.), Dan Maffei (N.Y.), Mike Doyle (Pa.), Tom Perriello (Va.) and Rick Boucher (Va.).

Additionally, the general ad will run in New Hampshire and the Detroit media market.
