Mark Warner Projected Winner in Virginia
Former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner (D) is now Senator-elect Warner, according to several news organizations who have called the race.
Warner is projected to win Virginia’s Senate race against Republican former Gov. Jim Gilmore, marking the first net gain for Senate Democrats tonight in their bid to attain a filibuster-proof majority in the upper chamber.
Warner succeeds Sen. John Warner (R), of no relation, who is retiring.
