Denver Post: Musgrave Yet to Concede in Colorado’s 4th

Defeated Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R) has yet to call her Democratic opponent and formally concede the race, despite a 12 point deficit in the final polls.

According to the Denver Post, Musgrave has not called Democratic victor Betsy Markey since Tuesday, an apparent sign of lingering bitterness in the race, according to the Post.

“She has yet to admit defeat,” Markey spokesman Ben Marter told the newspaper. “It’s a little bizarre.”

Markey won 56 percent to Musgrave’s 44 percent on Tuesday, and will represent Colorado’s 4th congressional district–considered somewhat of a Republican stronghold–in next year’s Congress.

Musgrave’s office did not comment for the Post story.
