Rep. Shea-Porter On Guard for 2010 Challenge

Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D), straight off of her second straight win in New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district, is already gearing up for another tough electoral fight in 2010.

“This seat is going to be one of the Republicans top targets,” Shea-Porter told New Hampshire Democrats at a party meeting this past weekend, as reported by Politicker. “I can’t sit back and the people of this district can’t sit back.”

Shea-Porter knocked off Rep. Jeb Bradley (R) in 2006’s Democratic landslides in Congress, and beat Bradley again this past November. Shea-Porter won 52 percent to Bradley’s 45 percent. The Cook Political Report rates the district as being even in party advantage, but projected it to remain “likely Democratic.”
