Huckabee: Economy Will Collapse, Just Matter of When

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) believes the economy will eventually collapse, though the bailouts he calls “insane” may delay that prospect.

“The whole economy is going to collapse,” Huckabee told Esquire Magazine. “It is just a matter of when is it going to happen and how bad is it going to be.”

Huckabee said that the U.S. is “kicking the can down the road” by bailing out different industries. “Maybe I won’t live to see the ultimate collapse, but my grandkids and even my kids will pay for it,” he added.

In the interview, Huckabee heaped scorn on conservative opinionmakers for backing the bailouts, which he said were a result of greed.

“Wall Street has become Las Vegas East,” Huckabee said.
