NRSC Launches Hodes Web Ad

Rep. Paul Hodes is already under fire. On blogs, at least.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee wasted little time this week producing a web ad that goes after Congressman Paul Hodes just days after he announced he’s running for the Senate in 2010.

Of course, the ad is only online, but it shows that the Republicans are focused on holding on to the New Hampshire seat, which was recently vacated when Judd Gregg (R) when he was nominated to be Commerce Secretary. It’s still unclear, though, who will run for for the seat on the Republican side. Former Sen. John Sununu (R), who lost to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D) last year, and former Congressman Charlie Bass (R) are two names that have surfaced so far.

Seeking to capitalize on the fiscally conservative side of New Hampshire, the ad seeks to paint Hodes as a tax and spend liberal. Check it out below.
