Minn. voters slightly favor revote; more think Franken won

Almost half of Minnesotans believe Democrat Al Franken won the still-contested Minnesota Senate race, while a smaller number believe GOP Sen. Norm Coleman was the victor, though the state is split on the possibility of a revote.

47 percent of Minnesota voters say that Franken took the race, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Thursday. 35 percent believe Coleman, who has been contesting Franken’s lead as certified by a state board for almost two months, won the election. 18 percent of voters said they were unsure.

More Minnesotans supported a “do-over” on the election, a prospect to which Coleman has indicated favorability. 46 percent of voters said they supported a revote, while 44 percent were opposed. 10 percent of the state was unsure.

Indepdent voters favor a revote by a 12-point margin.
