Stivers, DCCC Trade Barbs Over Child Protection

The campaign of Republican candidate Steve Stivers (R-Ohio) and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) traded barbs Wednesday over accusations that Stivers failed to vote to strengthen laws against child predators.

A DCCC release accused Stivers of siding with Ohio Republicans during his tenure as a state senator after his colleagues in the Ohio House stripped certain provisions from a bill to protect children from sexual predators. The release slammed Stivers for not siding with senate Democrats and one Republican state senator in a vote restoring those provisions.
