Bloomberg Endorses Another N.Y.-Area Democrat

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg backed his second New York-area Democrat for Congress, endorsing Dennis Shulman over three-term Rep. Scott Garrett (R) in New Jersey’s 5th congressional district.

“I am endorsing Dennis Shulman because I am impressed by his pragmatic, sensible approach,” Bloomberg said. Shulman, a blind rabbi from northern New Jersey, has been added to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Red to Blue” list, and hopes to be one of many Democrats to takeover Republican districts next week.

Bloomberg endorsed Democrat Michael McMahon in New York’s 13th congressional district, where Rep. Vito Fossella (R) is retiring.
