Sutton, Hare to chair DCCC Labor Council

Reps. Betty Sutton (D-Ohio) and Phil Hare (D-Ill.) will head House Democrats outreach to the labor community for the 2012 election cycle, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced Tuesday.

Sutton and Hare will co-chair the DCCC’s Labor Council.

“The labor community was a critical part of the Democrats’ victories in 2006 and 2008 cycles and will be even more important this cycle in helping Democrats efforts to rebuild the economy,” Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), the chair of the DCCC, said. “Representatives Sutton and Hare are leaders in our fight for American workers and will provide invaluable expertise and resources as we continue to tap into the energy around the country to protect and strengthenAmericas workers.”
