Rep. Boyda Concedes to GOP Opponent
Democratic freshman Rep. Nancy Boyda (Kan.) has conceded to her GOP challenger Lynn Jenkins, reports the Associated Press.
The race has not yet been called in Jenkins’ favor. Jenkins is leading 51 to 46 percent with 86 percent of the precincts reporting.
Boyda would be the fourth House Democrat to lose on a night during which her party is making strong gains in both chambers of Congress. Jenkins, the state treasurer, had attacked Boyda as out of touch with the GOP-leaning eastern Kansas district, while Boyda portrayed herself as a political independent.
