OFA to hold rally Wednesday for Obama budget
Organizing for America, President Obama’s political arm, is holding a rally on Wednesday to deliver pledges of support for Obama’s budget to Congress.
Check out the full email that went out to supporters after the jump. I’ve been skeptical of how effective Organizing for America has been in drumming up support for Obama’s policies, instead of his politics. So far, it appears that this first effort netted 100,000 signatures, though the release for the event tomorrow says the group will be presenting “hundreds of thousands” of pledges.
Organizing for America
XXXXX–Wednesday is the day. We’ve gathered hundreds of thousands of pledges from all over the country supporting the President’s budget and its investments in health care, energy independence, and schools. Now, with key votes in Congress this week, it’s time to hand deliver them to lawmakers.
We’ll be gathering at the Democratic National Committee headquarters — three blocks from Capitol Hill — to personally show Congress our support for President Obama’s budget.
Come join me and fellow supporters as we celebrate our hard work and send a powerful message to Congress about the support the President has for a budget that tackles the long-term challenges to our prosperity. Will you join us?
Let us know you’re coming — please RSVP now.
Please remember to bring a photo ID with you.
