Giuliani won’t rule out 2010 run for N.Y. Governor

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) suggested Wednesday he may be considering a run for governor of New York in 2010, adding he will not rule out anything.

“I have no idea,” Giiuliani told MSNBC during an appearance on “Morning Joe” about whether or not he would challenge incumbent Gov. David Paterson (D).

Paterson’s poll numbers have been flagging since engendering a prolonged public spectacle over his appointment of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D) to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Senate.

“I’m not going to say yes, I’m going to say no,” Giuliani coyly added. The former mayor has been rumored to be considering a return to statewide politics, most likely in a run for the governorship.

“Why should I say no to anything?” Giuliani rhetorically asked when he was pressed about whether or not he still has presidential ambitions. Giuliani fan for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, but his campaign fizzled out after skipping key contests in Iowa and New Hampshire.
