Jon Voight to emcee Republican fundraiser

This one’s for all you 24 fans out there: The National Republican Congressional Committee sent out an email to supporters Thursday morning announcing that actor Jon Voight will be emceeing the Republican fundraising dinner next week.

Voight, who has starred in such roles as Defense Secretary John Keller in “Transformers,” FDR in “Pearl Harbor” and Coach Bud Kilmer in “Varsity Blues,” was outspoken in his support of Republican nominee John McCain (Ariz.) in last year’s presidential election.

The Republican Senate House Dinner next Monday is the GOP’s biggest fundraiser of the year for their campaign committees. The keynote speaker this year will be former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.).
