NRCC urges supporters to join Tea Parties

The National Republican Congressional Committee on Tuesday sought to fundraise off of Tax Day and encouraged its supporters to attend a “Tea Party” on Wednesday.

In an email to supporters, NRCC Executive Director Guy Harrison blamed Democrats for raising taxes.

“[O]n this Tax Day, all taxpaying Americans should be concerned that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats’ runaway tax hikes will be the death of America’s economy as they extend the ‘Pelosi Recession,'” Harrison wrote.

Harrison used the term “Pelosi Recession,” referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), twice in the email. He also urged supporters to attend a “Tea Party,” a series of protests that are said to be occurring across the country on Wednesday. The email also includes a link where readers can locate a “Tea Party” near where they live.

Dear NRCC Supporter,

We all know the saying, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes” – unless you are a Democrat politician, like Charlie Rangel or Scott Murphy; or nominees for a Cabinet Level positions, like Tim Geithner or Tom Daschle.

Yet on this Tax Day, all taxpaying Americans should be concerned that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats’ runaway tax hikes will be the death of America’s economy as they extend the “Pelosi Recession.”

This week, thousands of patriotic Americans will gather to protest oppressive government taxation, and stand as one for fiscal sanity at tea parties across the nation.

If you would like to find a Tea Party gathering close to you, click here see the map which outlines when and where local events will occur.

You work hard for your money and should keep as much as possible. Please consider supporting the NRCC as we work to elect Republicans in the House to restore fiscal sanity and end the “Pelosi Recession.”

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Guy Harrison, Executive Director

P.S. After passing a budget that spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much, Democrats are now training their sites on taxing energy at levels never seen before. You cannot afford to allow the Democrats to continue their fiscally insanity. Please consider contributing $15, $25, $50 or more as we fight for you.
