The big names keep turning out for Terry McAuliffe and his Virginia gubernatorial campaign. On Friday, veteran Democratic strategist Paul Begala sent out a fundraising email to supporters on his behalf.
With the subject “Making Waves,” Begala’s encourages McAuliffe supporters to “hope to it. Time’s a-wasting.”
“Terry knows how to make waves in a race like this,” Begala wrote. “In the last week, he’s hit the campaign trail with Bill Clinton and will.i.am. He’s gotten big endorsements from the Virginia League of Conservation Voters and 32BJ of SEIU, representing thousands of workers in Virginia.”
As Begala’s email indicates, McAuliffe has relied on several big time endorsements in the governors race. And McAuliffe certainly appears to have the momentum against former Delegate Brian Moran and state Sen. Creigh Deeds as they head into the June 9 Democratic primary.
The winner of that contest will take on Republican former Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell.
