Bunning: McConnell is a ‘control freak’

Oh boy, Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) is at it again.

On his weekly conference call with local reporters, Bunning said that his fellow Kentucky Senator and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) is a “control freak,” reports the Louisville Courier-Journal.

And Bunning, who is facing a very difficult reelection race next year, also said he doesn’t want McConnell’s endorsement.

“If Mitch McConnell doesn’t endorse me, it could be the best thing that ever happened to me in Kentucky,” the Hall of Fame pitcher said.

McConnell has adamantly stayed out of Bunning’s race. On Fox News Sunday last weekend, McConnell flatly refused to endorse Bunning.

There appears to be no love lost between Bunning and McConnell.

“McConnell is leading the ship, but he is leading it in the wrong direction,” Bunning also said on the call.
