McConnell, Cornyn, McCain to raise money for Crist

The biggest Republican names in the Senate will raise money for Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) in Washington.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), National Republican Senatorial Commmittee (NRSC) Chairman John Cornyn (R-Texas) and 2008 GOP presidential nominee John McCain (R-Ariz.) headline an event for Crist being held June 22 at the NRSC, according to an invitation obtained by The Hill.

Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) will also be there, along with GOP power players Charlie Black, Ben Ginsberg, former Veterans Affairs Secretary Anthony Principi and Recording Industry Association of America CEO Mitch Bainwol.

Crist faces a primary with former state House Speaker Marco Rubio, but the governor has the NRSC’s endorsement and the full-throated backing of the GOP establishment. He is a strong favorite.

The price to attend the fundraiser is $1,000 per person and $2,000 per political action committee. Hosts must round up $10,000, and they get to attend a private dinner with Crist.
