Contributions up, spending down for conservative super-Pac

Restore Our Future, the super-PAC created to support Mitt Romney, pulled in as much in September as it did in July and August combined, a new Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing showed.

{mosads}Following two consecutive months with $7 million in contributions, a report filed on Saturday showed that the group collected $14.8 million in September.

The conservative super-PAC rebounded last month due in part to in part to several six- and seven-figure donations.

In August, the group spent almost all of its $21.2 million in expenditures on advertising for the Romney campaign, which could only spend funds raised for the primary season on ad buys. Last month, however, the group only spent $4.6 million, refilling its coffers for the final weeks before the election.

But the Romney campaign did not increase its advertising in September, Restore Our Future’s treasurer told the Los Angeles Times.

Although the Romney For President has not yet posted September financial report to the FEC, the Los Angeles Times reported that it was “outgunned” on the airwaves last month.
