Driver of prisoner transport van charged in deadly crash
A driver of a prisoner transport van in North Dakota has been charged in a deadly crash that killed one person.
Geraldine Miller, the driver of the Pierce County prisoner transport van, has been charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment, The Bismarck Tribune reported.
Court documents say Miller sped through an intersection on Aug. 4, ignoring cross traffic and not yielding to cars that had the right of way.
The van collided with a GMC Savana, killing Philemena Evenson, a passenger in the car.
There were three people in the prisoner van who went to the hospital after the collision: two officers, one of them Miller, and one inmate.
Miller’s initial appearance for court will be via a video conference on Nov. 3, according to the outlet.
