Allyson Felix wins bronze in women’s 400 meter, tying all-time track medal record

Track and field star Allyson Felix tied the all-time track medal record on Friday when she won a bronze medal in the women’s 400-meter race at the Tokyo Olympics.

Felix, 35, ran the 400 meter in 49.46 seconds, which USA Track and Field said was the second fastest time of her career.

Winning her 10th medal in Olympic competition, @allysonfelix showed the determination that has made her the most decorated woman in track and field history.

Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas took home the gold medal, while Marileidy Paulino won silver.

Felix is now a 10-time Olympic medalist, tying the record set by track legend Carl Lewis. She now has the most Olympic medals of any woman in track history.

Lewis congratulated Felix for her win on Twitter.

Felix won silver in the 400-meter race in the 2016 Olympics in Rio, where she also won gold in the women’s 4x 100-meter and 4x 400- meter races.

The track star won her first Olympic medal in the 2004 Games in Athens, where she took silver in the 200-meter.

She would later win a gold and silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and win three gold medals in the 2012 London Games.
