Disney, US theme parks release updated mask policies

Disney and other U.S. theme parks released updated mask policies after the Centers for Disease and Prevention’s (CDC) guidance for fully-vaccinated individuals.

Disney announced that masks are not needed outside, but will still be required in indoor spaces, Reuters reported. Universal Orlando is implementing the same guidance.

“Face coverings will remain required at all indoor locations, including restaurants, shops, and indoor hotel public areas,” Universal Orlando said.

SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. said for its parks, including Aquatics Orlando, Discovery Cove, Aquatica San Antonio, SeaWorld San Antonio, SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, vaccinated people will no longer need to wear masks.

The changes come as the CDC announced this week that vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks indoors or outdoors.

Many companies are beginning to change their mask guidance in order to reflect the CDC’s change, including Walmart and Starbucks.

States have also begun to drop their mask mandates in light of the recent news.

The news comes after millions of Americans have been vaccinated almost a year and a half after the pandemic began.
