Nobel prize winner Malala Yousafzai graduates from Oxford University
Activist and Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai announced this week that she has officially completed her degree from Oxford University.
“Hard to express my joy and gratitude right now as I completed my Philosophy, Politics and Economics degree at Oxford,” Yousafzai tweeted Thursday, alongside photos of herself celebrating with loved ones.

She also shared a photo of herself covered in food and confetti following her exams, participating in a tradition at Oxford known as “trashing,” according to the BBC.
Yousafzai said she doesn’t “know what’s ahead yet,” but she joked that she is currently focused on “Netflix, reading and sleep.”
The 22-year-old activist was born in Pakistan. A longtime advocate for girls’ education, at age 15 Yousafzai was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen during an assassination attempt while traveling home on a bus from school.
In 2014, Yousafzai became the youngest person ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize when she was 17.
Yousafzai has also advocated for the rights of refugees around the world. She has called on officials not to use tear gas on migrants who are fleeing, and she said she was “heartbroken” over President Trump’s 2017 executive order calling for new vetting standards of refugees entering the United States.
