The words “All Black Lives Matter” are seen painted on Hollywood Blvd before the start a solidarity march between the LGBTQ+ and Black Lives Matter communities, June 14, 2020 in Hollywood California.

Demonstrators painted “All Black Lives Matter” along a stretch of Hollywood Boulevard on Saturday.

“All Black Lives Matter” was painted in a rainbow of colors across from the Dolby Theatre to honor black LGBTQ community members during the 50th anniversary of the first Pride celebration. The LA Pride march and festival was supposed to occur Sunday but was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The phrase was painted in various colors to represent the diversity of the LGBTQ community including colors in the Rainbow flag and Transgender Pride Flag, CBS Los Angeles reported.

The street was painted ahead of Sunday morning’s All Black Lives Matter march, and will act as the march’s starting point. A Black Advisory Board made up of black LGBTQ leaders and organizations organized the protest, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“The protest is in direct response to racial injustice, systemic racism, and all forms of oppression,” the event’s website said. “The LGBTQ+ community must extend its support to unite against oppression, police brutality, racism, transphobia, and the many other disparities disproportionately impacting the Black community.”

Sunday’s protests come a week after more than 20,000 people gathered in the same spot to demonstrate against George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis police custody.

Several other protests are planned for Sunday, and on Saturday, more than 100 of people connected to the Cochran Avenue Baptist Church marched in the city against police brutality against minority populations, according to the Times.
