Museum to sell Fauci bobbleheads

A bobblehead of Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will be going on sale Friday, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum announced.

“Bobbleheads are the ultimate honor, and we think Dr. Fauci deserves it given what he has done and continues to do for our country and the world in the battle against COVID-19,” National Bobblehead museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in an email Wednesday.

The bobbleheads will be available for pre-order on the Milwaukee-based museum’s website starting Friday.

Five dollars from the sale of each $25 bobblehead will be donated to the American Hospital Association in support of the 100 Million Mask Challenge, a fundraiser aimed at meeting the demand for personal protective equipment at hospitals across the country.

Sklar said the museum has received “a lot of requests” for a bobblehead of the infectious disease expert who has been a central figure on the White House’s coronavirus task force.

Fauci’s name and face have been honored by a variety of businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic.

For example a bakery in Rochester, N.Y., featured Fauci’s face on a doughnut, and a clam bar on Long Island, N.Y., announced a linguini dish would be named in honor of the doctor.
