Four Brooklyn Nets test positive for coronavirus

Four players with the Brooklyn Nets have tested positive for the coronavirus, the NBA announced Tuesday.

Of those four, three are reportedly asymptomatic. All four Nets are in isolation and under the care of team physicians. Those who may have had contact with the infected players are being notified, according to a statement from the team.

“All players and members of the Nets travel party are being asked to remain isolated, closely monitor their health and maintain constant communication with team medical staff,” a statement from the Nets read. “The health of our players and staff is of the highest priority to the organization and the team is doing everything within its power to ensure that those affected receive the best care possible.”

The league suspended its season last week after an NBA player contracted the coronavirus and reportedly won’t pick up again until June.

The cases from the Nets doubled the number of known NBA players with the virus: One unidentified Detroit Pistons player tested positive for the virus Saturday, days after two Utah Jazz players were reported to have the virus as well.
