US sailor kills two, self in Pearl Harbor shooting
A U.S. sailor shot and killed two civilian shipyard workers at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu, Rear Adm. Robert Chadwick told reporters, according to CNN.
The sailor also shot and injured a third civilian employee before killing himself, Chadwick reportedly said. The wounded employee is reportedly in stable condition at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
Officials at Hawaii’s Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam responded to an active shooter that took place at approximately 2:30 p.m Wednesday, according to the base’s official Twitter account.
JBPHH security forces have responded to a reported shooting at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Due to the ongoing security incident, access/gates to #JBPHH are closed. We will update when we have further information. pic.twitter.com/6uZulGOUTx

The public access system on the base was urging people in the area to take cover, Hawaii News Now reported. Witnesses said the shooting occurred at Drydock 2.
The scene was secured and the base reopened about three hours later, US Navy Cmdr. Lydia Robertson told CNN.
Authorities have not released the suspected shooter’s identity.
