Former President Jimmy Carter is recovering after falling at his home in Plains, Ga., on Sunday, the Carter Center tweeted.

Carter, who required stitches above his brow, still plans to attend a Habitat for Humanity event in Tennessee on Sunday evening, according to the statement.

“He said he feels fine and wanted everyone to know that he and Mrs. Carter are eager to be at Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project in Nashville, Tennessee, Oct. 6-11, starting with the opening ceremony this evening,” the statement said.

Carter, a Democrat, turned 95 last week — becoming the first U.S president to reach that age.

He is the longest-living U.S. president, surpassing former President George H.W. Bush, who died last year. {mosads}

Carter has spent his time since since leaving office following his one-term presidency by focusing on humanitarian work.

He and his wife founded the Carter Center in 1982.
