Driver of car that rammed Trump Plaza told police he ‘blacked out’

The driver of a car that hit the Trump Plaza hotel in New Rochelle, N.Y., told police he “blacked out” before the crash, officers said in a Wednesday statement.

New Rochelle police Capt. Cosmo Costa told The Hill the Tuesday evening incident was just an accident.

{mosads}The statement said that the driver, a 63-year-old male, appears to have suffered from a medical condition that contributed to the collision.

The man was driving his Mercedes-Benz sedan when he failed to make a left turn and struck the front entrance of the hotel, police said.

He and a Trump Plaza concierge suffered minor injuries in the incident and were taken to the hospital.
