Klobuchar campaign sends pizza to Gillibrand team after she drops out of race
After Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) exited the 2020 presidential race on Wednesday, fellow Democratic contender Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s (Minn.) campaign sent the Gillibrand team something to cheer them up: pizza.
“Thank you to the @amyklobuchar team for the breakfast pizza this morning! #Friendship2020,” Lara Henderson, the Iowa state director for Gillibrand’s 2020 campaign, tweeted Friday.

Gillibrand officially ended her White House bid on Wednesday. Her announcement came hours before the deadline to qualify for September’s third round of presidential primary debates, for which she had not yet met the qualifying criteria.
“I know this isn’t the result we wanted. We wanted to win this race,” Gillibrand said in a video posted to Twitter. “But it’s important to know when it’s not your time and to know how you can best serve your community and country. I believe I can best serve by helping to unite us to beat Donald Trump in 2020.”
Klobuchar has qualified for the September Democratic primary debate and will take the stage alongside nine fellow White House hopefuls.
