Fox News contributor and former Democratic National Committee chair Donna Brazile on Sunday told President Trump to “focus on your job” after he pointed to her hiring to criticize the network.
“So @donnabrazile gives Crooked Hillary the Questions, and now she’s on @FoxNews!” Trump tweeted earlier Sunday afternoon, in reference to emails published by Wikileaks indicating that Brazile, then a CNN contributor, had provided upcoming primary debate questions to the Clinton presidential campaign in 2016.
{mosads}“Mr President, you represent over 320 million ppl. Focus on your job! Try to bring out the best in others and repent when you make mistakes,” Brazile tweeted in response. “Seek forgiveness & strive for excellence.”
Brazile added that she was “rejoicing today in New Orleans” in remembrance of the late Gov. Kathleen Blanco (D), who died last Sunday. Brazile served as a member of the board of directors of the Louisiana Recovery Authority under Blanco in the wake of Hurricane Katrina from 2005 to 2009.
“#BeBest,” Brazile added, referencing first lady Melania Trump’s anti-cyberbullying campaign.
Trump’s tweet is the latest in a series of missives from the president criticizing Fox News, several of whose on-air personalities serve as his informal advisors. Trump on Sunday initially tweeted that the conservative-friendly network is “not what it used to be” due to its unfavorable polling of his approval rating.
The Hill has requested comment from Fox News on Trump’s comments.
