Man goes viral as #GreenShirtGuy after laughing at Trump supporters protesting Arizona ‘sanctuary city’ resolution

A man went viral as #GreenShirtGuy on Wednesday after a video showing him hysterically laughing at a pair of Trump supporters circulated widely online.

The video has been shared thousands of times, with hundreds of users sharing the hashtag “GreenShirtGuy.”

The incident — and the man’s viral fame — began with a protest of an Arizona city’s “sanctuary city” resolution.

The Tucson City Council voted Tuesday night to put a sanctuary city measure on the November ballot, prompting outcry from two people, one of them a woman wearing a red “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hat, according to video of the incident. Sanctuary cities do not cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

{mosads}“This city does not change or defy immigration laws. That is Congress’s job to change immigration laws,” the woman in the red MAGA hat says. She appears to be filming the event with a camera phone and is holding a sign that reads “Respect our laws or we will deport you! No sanctuary for criminals.”

Other members of the audience respond to her statements with boos and jeers, while the camera repeatedly pans to a laughing man sporting a mustache and a green shirt.

“You were put in office to protect American citizens. American citizens. Respect our laws,” the woman continues as the man with her holds up a sign protesting the decision.

As she continues to shout, “Respect our laws,” the video shows the man in the green shirt heaving with laughter.

At one point, the woman accuses the city’s mayor of being in direct violation of the oath taken to defend the U.S. Constitution.

Someone else in the audience can be heard stating “You’re in direct violation of being a jackass,” prompting more laughter from the so-called green shirt guy.

The video then shows a police officer directing the protesters to leave as the green-shirted man continues to laugh.
