Florida strip club cancels golf tournament planned for Trump resort

A Florida strip club that was set to hold a golf tournament at the Trump Organization’s resort in Doral, Fla., has canceled the event.

“Due to the climate of everything surrounding our golf tournament Shadow Cabaret has decided to cancel this event,” Shadow Cabaret, an adult entertainment venue in Hialeah, Fla., posted late Wednesday on its Facebook page

{mosads}“Our intention was to raise money for a deserving local charity. Trump Doral, the hotel, has no association with our company outside of simply allowing us to rent the golf course. We chose the Trump Doral because of the prestigious golf course and luxury hotel accommodations.”

Advertisements for the charity-oriented event reportedly featured Trump-themed branding and listed several perks for golfers, including allowing guests to select a “caddy girl of your choice,” which the company said be women dressed in a pink miniskirt and a “sexy white polo.”

The cancellation comes after the nonprofit that was supposed to benefit from the event pulled out on Wednesday.

“We’re not participating, and I think you should cancel the event,” Carlos Alamilla of the nonprofit Miami Allstars Foundation, said he told the tournament’s organizers, adding to The Washington Post that he did not realize that his group’s logo was being used in advertisements for the tournament.

The Trump Doral regularly hosts golf tournaments for private events and charities. It hosted the PGA Tour in 2016.

The Trump Organization told the Post that all payments made for the event will be refunded.

President Trump does not directly run the Trump Organization, which he put into a trust controlled by his adult sons when he entered office in 2017.
