Mick Jagger mocks Trump’s Revolutionary War airport gaffe
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger mocked President Trump’s July Fourth gaffe when Trump said the army “took over the airports” during the Revolutionary War.
Speaking to the crowd during Sunday’s show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., Jagger joked that Trump “made a very good point in his speech the other night.”
{mosads}“If only the British had held on to the airports, the whole thing might have gone differently for us,” Jagger joked as the crowd cheered him on.
Jagger wished the crowd a happy extended July Fourth weekend and said the holiday has always been a “touchy holiday for us Brits,” according to Rolling Stone magazine.
Trump attributed the mistake in his speech from the Lincoln Memorial last week to the teleprompter malfunctioning.
“Actually right in the middle of that sentence, it went out,” Trump told reporters last Friday.
This is not the first time Jagger has swiped at Trump.
The 75-year-old rock icon called out the Trump campaign after it used multiple Rolling Stones songs at events, including “Start Me Up” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”
The Rolling Stones issued a statement that it did not endorse Trump and asked the campaign to stop using its music.

The campaign has reportedly continued to use the music even after the band’s request for it to stop.
