I.M. Pei, designer of Paris Louvre’s iconic pyramid, dies at 102: report

Renowned architect I.M. Pei, the architect behind the iconic glass pyramid of Paris’s Louvre museum, has died at the age of 102, the New York Times reported Thursday.

Pei’s son, Li Chung Pei told the paper that his father died overnight. 

{mosads}Pei’s Washington, D.C. works include the East Building of the National Gallery of Art and the Chinese Embassy building. He also worked on the design for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland in 1995.

Pei began his career helping to design high-rise buildings and later set up his own company, I. M. Pei & Associates, in 1955.

He was born in China and attended Harvard University.
