The U.S. Attorneys Office on Monday unveiled its new official Twitter account with a tweet mirroring the introduction to NBC’s “Law and Order.”

“In the Federal criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate but equally important groups: Special Agents, who investigate crime, and United States Attorneys, who prosecute the offenders,” the tweet read, along with an image of the Justice Department headquarters in Washington, D.C.

“These are our stories. DUN DUN.”

Each episode of the long-running crime drama begins with a narration: “In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police who investigate crime and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.”

The 20th and final season of the hit police and legal drama aired in 2010.

The launch of the new Twitter account corresponded with National Police Week to honor law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.

There were more than 100 law enforcement officers killed last year, according to an annual FBI report released earlier this month.

In 2018, there were 106 officers killed feloniously or accidentally, compared to 94 officers killed in the line of duty the year before.
